There are many religious books in existence today. The Bible is the only one with the evidence to back its message.
When you believe in God and trust the Bible, you should then read it. By doing so you will find the way to Heaven! Why in Matthew 26:39 did Jesus beg God to have mercy on him and kill him, before he went through the pain of crucifixion?
This is what Jesus said, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” In no way is Jesus asking the Father to kill him. Jesus did not want to go through the excruciating pain and suffering that he was forced to endure on the cross. Who would? That he did not want to go to the cross serves as evidence that he is human, but does not deny his divinity.
Unless otherwise noted, all verses on this site are quoted from the English Standard Version (ESV) translation of the Bible due to it's retaining of classic theological terminology and it's pulling from much older manuscripts that have been discovered over the last 400 years since the publication of the King James Version (KJV) in 1611. We also recommend the KJV, NKJV and NASB translations for Bible study.
