Why did Jesus say that no one (Including him) knows when the judgment day will come, but only the Father does (Matthew 24:36)

Why did Jesus say that no one (Including him) knows when the judgment day will come, but only the Father does (Matthew 24:36)

Detail: If Jesus is God, then why in Matthew 24:36 did he say, “Concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.”? Jesus told his followers that no one (Including him) knows when the judgment day will come, but only the Father does.

What this question is implying is in fact false. To put it in the analogy of a family, it is like saying that because a son does not know something that his father knows, that he is somehow not a part of the family, which we would obviously say is false. This verse does not contradict the divinity of Jesus.

Furthermore, it could be asked, “but why didn’t Jesus know the hour or the day?” To answer this we can look back to the Bible and see that Jesus as a human had to live with the physical limitations of being a human. Part of these limitations was his knowledge and stature, for even Luke 2:52 says that Jesus grew in these areas with age.
